Hiking & Packrafting Anaktuvuk Pass to Wiseman in Gates of the Arctic National Park

Logistics:

Get lucky enough to have a great friend to explore such a beautiful place with. Fly from Fairbanks to Anaktuvuk Pass with Wright Air or Warbelows Air. Don’t “take” isobutane containers, not allowed. You could end up with a wife speeding home to grab a different stove before you take off that doesn’t end up working but fortunately you had a wood burning Ti-tri stove to use in a pinch. Which is actually an awesome stove. Hike/packraft ~100 miles south to Nolan via Ernie Pass & the Koyukuk River. Head to Arctic Getaway B&B to be welcomed by the incredible Hicker family. Slyly negotiate a quick overnight packraft trip with your wife so she’ll drive 350 miles to pick you up and drive back to Fairbanks via the Haul Road. A big thanks to all these people and Patrick for making this trip happen.
